Actors have different methods for memorizing monologues. Here is one suggestion that many actors use to really get the words of a monologue to stick in their minds. Try hand-writing your monologue! The time it takes to write our every word, and the concentration you give to the task, will inevitably burn the words of the monologue into your mind. It may seem time-consuming, but a few hours of hand-writing your piece over and over again can prove verys useful in the memorization of even the most difficult monologue.
well im memorizing a monolouge and this tip really helps. i also say it on a sound recorder on mi computer and listen to it 24/7!!!
That was good advice. I do it all the time, but I have to memorize MLK jr's "I Have A Dream" Speech and it takes about 2 hours to copy it all down! So now what do I do?
I would just like to point out that that may not be so very simple for Audible thinkiers (sound thinkers). Kinetic thinkers (visual thinkers) may have an easier time with this method.
I am more of an auditoral learner so I used a tape recorder.
